The new live album is well underway. 14 tracks recorded live at The Grosvenor Hotel with The Rough Diamonds.

Steve is currently building a new acoustic guitar!
Works are underway to prepare for the release of a new live album recorded at the Grosvenor Hotel.

Basic recordings of the Grosvenor gigs on Tuesday nights have been surprisingly interesting with a view to possibly releasing these on a limited run CD album.

Variety Club Award
The Variety Club of Great Britian has presented Mark Knopfler with their Silver Heart Award, the highest accolade the Variety Club can confer on an artist.
The award was presented to Mark at a special tribute lunch held at the Civic Centre in Newcastle-Unpon-Tyne. Around 700 guests attended the event which was MC'd by Jools Holland. Mark was joined by Guy Fletcher on keyboards for a performance of Local Hero.Well done Mark.

Steve Phillips performs a rare SOLO date in LONDON at The Kalamazoo Club on Friday 8th July. This was the day after the London bombing! Audience numbers exceeded our expectations after such a tragedy. A huge thank you to those of you who turned out for this gig.

Topics of discussion include my paintings, this web site and the new album. The interview ended with the first known public airing of a track (Statesboro' Blues') from the forthcoming album.
